Security tooling has a new and growing driver: a Stanford randomised trial found developers using AI assistance wrote less secure code while feeling more confident about it. Volume of code went up; the review capacity did not.

That gap is the demand signal. Tools that make generated code verifiable — rather than tools that merely produce another report nobody reads — are the ones with a market in 2026.
